Description

The Munich Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research (MCIER) at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich pursues research to explore and analyze the courses, determinants, outcomes and implications of innovation and entrepreneurship processes. Current research areas are IPR Systems, Innovation Management and Policy, Culture and Innovation, Innovation Motives and Innovation Behavior.

The department announces the opening of two positions as Research Fellows (f/m) (Doctoral Candidates).

Eligibility

To be considered, the candidate should have a basic training at the Master´s level (equivalent to the 3 + 2 Bologna process) and be fluent, both in written and spoken English. An educational background in business administration, economics or a related field is necessary. The candidate should also show a strong interest in innovation, intellectual property management, or entrepreneurship and an active participation in on-going research projects. Most importantly, the candidate should share their fascination for high quality scientific research with academic and societal impact.

Fellowship

Financial support is granted in accordance with the guidelines of the Max Planck Society in the form of a doctoral scholarship (stipend). Financial support will be available for a total period of three years. Doctoral scholarships for foreign doctoral students provide 1,365 EUR per month (as of 12/2012; subject to change).

Application

The review process starts immediately; the application deadline is March 31, 2014.

In addition to the research proposal, the application must include copies of a Master’s degree certificate or other certificates of a corresponding level, brief curriculum vitae (CV), a list of papers, publications, or a selected written work (e.g. Master’s thesis). Applicants must enclose documentation of their English language skills if English or German is not their mother tongue.
