The main objective of 10th annual Summer School, organised by the Prague Security Studies Institute in cooperation with NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division, is to offer a high-profile study course for students currently enrolled in Master’s degree programs, based on presentations, interactive workshops and simulations with international security experts from academia and government fields. Summer School speakers will be announced on PSSI’s website as they are secured.
Since 2005, NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division has joined forces with PSSI to offer a select, but intensive, course of study for an elite group of graduate students in political science, international relations and other relevant fields from NATO’s member states and partner countries concerning future challenges for NATO and pressing issues on the global security agenda. This one-week course, held in English, includes lectures, presentations, group discussions and simulations led by Czech and foreign security experts – both senior policy practitioners and scholars. The retreat-type setting in Měřín, Czech Republic provides a unique networking opportunity for approximately 25 participants from as many as 15 countries.
Eligible are students currently enrolled in Master’s degree programs in Political Science, International Relations and Economics and other relevant fields from (1) NATO’s member and (2) partner countries.
Registration fee amounts to 2000,- Kc / 80 EUR. Accommodation and meals will be fully covered by the organizers. Foreign participants’ travel expenses will be partially reimbursed (not applicable to those selected students from the Czech Republic or Slovakia). In previous years, the reimbursement amount has been around 40%. However, this cannot be determined until all selected participants submit estimated travel costs. Participants will receive more information upon their selection.
Selected participants are responsible for securing their own travel visa, and PSSI can supply a letter of support to selected applicants if needed. Please contact the local Czech Embassy Immediately to learn of the visa application interview availability.
Please download the application from HERE and send it filled-out, along with your (1) CV and (2) essay to [email protected] by May 18, 2014. The selected participants will be notified by May 23, 2014.
