Description

The second Syngenta Photography Award is inviting photographers from all over the world to explore the tensions and relationships between scarcity and waste through compelling imagery. Photographers can submit their images in two categories – The Professional Commission and the Open CompetitionThe Award, worth a total of US$65,000 in prize money, is now open for entries until September 15, 2014.

Eligibility

The Professional Commission invites professional photographers to explore this year’s theme Scarcity-Waste through a compelling series of images and a creative project proposal.

The Open Competition invites all photographers aged 18 or over – whether amateur, professional, or student – to visually explore this year’s theme Scarcity-Waste through compelling images.

Prize

They will award three prizes in the Professional Commission category:

  • 1st prize: US$15,000, plus up to US$25,000 for the commission project;
  • 2nd prize: US$10,000;
  • 3rd prize: US$5,000.

The jury members award three prizes in the Open Competition:

  • 1st prize: US$5,000;
  • 2nd prize: US$3,000;
  • 3rd prize: US$2,000.
