In 2013 Caféba­bel launched monthly ed­i­to­r­ial se­ries, ‘EU-in-Motion’, which aims to make us think about the fu­ture of Eu­rope. Now they need three jour­nal­ists (print or video) and one pho­tog­ra­pher to join this team in Athens: you will be writ­ing on the five fol­low­ing top­ics with the sup­port of their local team:

  • Youth un­em­ploy­ment
  • Elec­tions in this coun­try: does Eu­rope mat­ter?
  • Fun­da­men­tal rights and pop­ulism rise among the youth
  • So­cial Eu­rope and qual­ity of life from the youth’ point of view
  • How to reg­u­late fi­nan­cial mar­kets and banks

You will be writ­ing about pro­jects, ideas, sto­ries, ini­tia­tives and an­gles that will grab peo­ple and make them see what Eu­rope is all about.

Eligibility

Journalists and photographers under 35 years old who live in a Eu­ro­pean coun­try.

Costs

  • Transport: a sum of up to 280 euros is re­im­bursed
  • Living costs: 220 euros is re­im­bursed
  • Accommodation: the team will stay in a hos­tel paid for by Cafébabel

Journalists: Send your CV and three-line EU­ IN MO­TION ar­ti­cle pro­pos­als 
Pho­tog­ra­phers: Send a CV, a port­fo­lio and one or two proposals for photo gallery sto­ries in Athens.

Your ideas should be linked with youth mo­bil­ity and un­em­ploy­ment, the rise of pop­ulism in EU coun­tries, so­cial and fi­nan­cial is­sues in Eu­rope, as well as ideas for in­ter­vie­wees… be orig­i­nal!
