Description
In 2013 Cafébabel launched monthly editorial series, ‘EU-in-Motion’, which aims to make us think about the future of Europe. Now they need three journalists (print or video) and one photographer to join this team in Athens: you will be writing on the five following topics with the support of their local team:
- Youth unemployment
- Elections in this country: does Europe matter?
- Fundamental rights and populism rise among the youth
- Social Europe and quality of life from the youth’ point of view
- How to regulate financial markets and banks
You will be writing about projects, ideas, stories, initiatives and angles that will grab people and make them see what Europe is all about.
Eligibility
Journalists and photographers under 35 years old who live in a European country.
Costs
- Transport: a sum of up to 280 euros is reimbursed
- Living costs: 220 euros is reimbursed
- Accommodation: the team will stay in a hostel paid for by Cafébabel

Journalists: Send your CV and three-line EU IN MOTION article proposals
Photographers: Send a CV, a portfolio and one or two proposals for photo gallery stories in Athens.
Your ideas should be linked with youth mobility and unemployment, the rise of populism in EU countries, social and financial issues in Europe, as well as ideas for interviewees… be original!
