Union of the Electricity Industry – EURELECTRIC is the sector association representing the electricity industry at pan-European level. They seek to contribute to the competitiveness of the electricity industry, provide effective representation for the industry in public affairs, and promote the role of electricity in the advancement of society. EURELECTRIC is seeking a Communication Officer focusing on press and media to join Policy Coordination & Communication unit based at the Brussels office.

Overall task:

  • Raise the industry’s public profile, creating awareness of its key messages;
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in communication of cross-cutting industry messages;
  • Define and implement a comprehensive external and internal communication plan;

Job description:

Externally

  • Profile and brand the industry among key stakeholders;
  • Ensure timely communication of industry messages;
  • Draft key messages in line with target audience;
  • Strengthen press and media contacts;

Internally

  • Define an effective communication plan and ensure correct execution in cooperation with policy units and communication colleagues;
  • Report to the Head of unit;

Eligibility

All applicants have to meet following requirements:

  • University degree with minimum 3 years professional experience in written and oral communication, including press and media, and multimedia communication tools;
  • Excellent written and spoken English a prerequisite (native level required);
  • Basic understanding of the EU political process and important energy and environment issues, a definite plus;
  • Strong organizational and communication skills;
  • Stress-resistant team player, able to work under pressure;
  • Organised and flexible, capable of prioritising and handling a variety of tasks;
  • Dynamic, outgoing personality, eager to work in a busy, international environment;

Remuneration

Full pay will be specified during application process.
