Description

The Creative Force Programme of Swedish Institute provides funding for collaborative initiatives involving organizations in Sweden and in the regions specified below. Projects should aim to promote human rights, transparency and democracy with the aid of initiatives that use either culture or the media as a method for achieving change.

Eligibility

Applicants may be Swedish civil society organizations, foundations, public sector agencies, private sector agencies or other professional actors. It is always the Swedish partner in a collaboration who is formally responsible for the application and legally accountable to the Swedish Institute. Specific regions for collaboration in The Creative Force Programme are:

Grants

There are two types of grants:

  • Seed funding – Seed funding is available for such purposes as small-scale projects, project start-ups and planning trips. Seed funding covers costs directly associated with carrying out the proposed project. The maximum amount that can be granted for seed funding is SEK 100 000.
  • Collaborative projects – Funding can be granted to collaborative projects which contain a creative, capacity-building dimension and include activities such as seminars, workshops, training courses and visits. Funding covers the direct costs associated with carrying out the proposed project.

Both funding may not be sought for research projects, study trips, school exchanges, commercial contact, volunteer activities, exchanges for children or young people, or participation in conferences/courses (unless the applicant has a central role). Nor may funding be sought for humanitarian efforts or disaster relief activities.

How to apply?

The deadline for application is 18 May 2015 for activities which must be completed and final reports submitted by 30 April 2016 (Eastern Europe, Russia, Western Balkans & Turkey) or 28 February 2016 (Africa, Middle East & North Africa). To apply for grants is necessary to register and fill online application form HERE. Instructions can be found on the form. All the necessary completed documents should then be submitted via the online application form. Please note that you can create and save an application, allowing you to review it before submitting it to the Swedish Institute.
