Description

The BEST 2.0 Programme provides grant funding for small – scale and medium – scale field actions on the ground for biodiversity conservation and sustainable development in the EU Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) – countries and territories with a special link to one of the following Member States: Denmark, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
The overall objective of BEST 2.0 is to promote the conservation of biodiversity and sustainable use of ecosystem services, including ecosystem – based approaches to climate change adaptation and mitigation, as a basis for sustainable development in OCTs.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must be:

  • A public or private body, actor or institution (applications from individuals are not eligible);
  • Registered in an EU Member State or in an EU Overseas Country and Territory;
  • Directly  responsible for  the  preparation  and  management  of  the  project: applications presented by a body acting as an intermediary for a third party are not acceptable.

How to apply?

The proposal should be submitted electronically on the BEST 2.0 portal (registration needed). However,  in  case  of  technical  difficulties  applicants  can  submit  via  email  to BEST2.0secretariat@iucn.org
