YSI SEA is a fully funded Innovation program that brings together youth from all over SEA, to ideate, prototype, and create real solutions to the 17 UN SDGs. The selected participants will undergo a rigorous four-month programme, which culminates in the Singapore Sustainability Conference where they’ll have the opportunity to pitch to investors and get funded. Translate your passion for social causes to reality!

The aim is for you and your team to create a real startup that helps solve the sustainable development goals and are economically viable. Fellows of the YSI SEA program are put in international teams of 4 people, and will go through 5 modules and 10 objectives in three months online. You will the spend about two weeks in Singapore where you get a fully funded trip to meet mentors, your teammates, investors and other stakeholders in the sustainability space.

The program offers knowledge and tools in innovation, creativity and leadership. The programme trains the teams to operate their own startup, as well as going from nothing to a fully fledged startup in 5 months. The programme provides close mentorship and follow up through  innovation team, access to the YSI network of talents, partners and mentors. The programme also train the team’s to find the necessary information and help they need for themselves. The program will be facilitated online, primarily using an education platform.

 

Eligibility

Apply as an individual, not as a team;
Apply only if you are of 18-25 years of age and reside in the Southeast Asian Region;
You do not need to have a startup idea before applying;
There will be 3 rounds in the application process. 6 teams will be chosen to work together at the end of March.

 

Benefits

YSI SEA program is 100% free for all participants and the trip to Singapore will be fully funded. You will live in Singapore for 10 days in July. Through the program, you will go through team building, design thinking, and a prototyping process, before arriving Singapore in July 2018. It does however take a lot of time, commitment and dedication. You will have to commit to the whole program. From April to June, you will work online in groups and do some researching alone to find opportunities inside your chosen goal and gather insights. You will use between 15-25 hours each week.  Your team will chat, do online workshops, talk with people in the network (mentors, businesses and so on) and keep track and explore your chosen goal together.
