Description

The Danube School Series is  a short term study program for postgraduate students and young professionals, who learn and discuss about facts, challenges and projects of the Danube Region. It is organised by the European Danube Academy in cooperation with several Universities of the Danube Region ( University of Tuebingen, HNU Neu-Ulm, University of Novi Sad, Andrassy University of Budapest and University of Ruse). About 25 participants meet for one week to discuss with academics and stakeholder about current challenges and possible solutions in different fields: cultural diversity, sustainability,  migration, innovation & start ups etc.

Focus of the Danube School in Ulm 2019 is “Diversity and Identity in the Danube Region”. The program includes lectures and discussions with international lecturers and high level political decision makers from the Danube Region as well as Workshops about developing own Danube Projects in international teams.

They invite you to apply to the Danube School “Cultural Diversity and Identity in the Danube Region” from  06.-11.10.2019 in Ulm/Neu-Ulm/Stuttgart, Germany.  The Danube School 2019 is part of the Danube School Network and is the 3rd School 2019: Spring School took place in Novi Sad, Serbia in April 2019, Summer School will be in Budapest, Hungary in July 2019, Danube School in Germany in October 2019 and the final School in winter 2019 in Ruse, Bulgaria.

Participants: 25 participants, aged 18-39 years, from all Danube Countries; The school is open for master and Ph.D. students, recent graduates as well as young professionals interested in Danube region, cultural heritage, management in culture, ethnology, anthropology, economics, administration and related sciences

Eligibility

  • Strong interest in the Danube Region’s politics, economy, culture, and history;
  • Basic Knowledge about the Danube Region and the European Strategy for the Danube Region;
  • 18-39 years old;
  • Postgraduate student, a student in the last years of the undergraduate studies or recent graduate;
  • Fluent in English.

Benefits

European Danube Academy will cover the accommodation and catering costs during the Summer School. Travel cost, health insurance and visa costs can NOT be reimbursed by the organizers – but if you are a student or unemployed or in difficult economic situation you can apply for financial support of travel costs (between 50-80 € max).

Scholarships

The European Danube Academy as organizer of the Danube School Series 2019 offers financial support to a limited number of individuals who might be unable to attend the Danube School due to financial constraints. The selection is made on a case by case basis. The limited grants will support participants with up to a maximum of 80 EUR support of travel costs.
