Description

Upon the concept of the founder of the Matsumae International Foundation (MIF), “Towards A Greater Understanding of Japan and a Lasting World Peace”, MIF has started the Research Fellowship Program in 1980.

“2020 Research Fellowship Program” has been officially released. The deadline of application is 17:00 on July 31st, 2019(Japan Standard Time).

Fields of research such as natural science, engineering, and medicine are considered with first priority.

The fellowship lasts for a period of three to six months and the number of fellowships is about 20 persons each year.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible for this fellowship, the applicants should fulfill the next requirements:

  • non-Japanese nationality;
  • hold a Doctorate degree;
  • must be 49 years old or under;
  • not have been in Japan previously;
  • have firm positions and professions in their home nations etc.

Benefits

Stipend for research and stay, Insurance, Air transportation (a round-trip air ticket to/from Tokyo) and Lump sum on arrival.
