An international photography competition dealing with the challenge of literature.

The idea of initiating an international photography competition, which relies on literature as a source of inspiration, was created in 2011.

10 winners will be chosen by a jury, and the winning photographs will be exhibited as part of the German Language Literature Festival taking place from the 26th June to 30th June 2019 in Klagenfurt, Austria. They will be shown in the garden of the Carinthian Regional Broadcasting Studios during this time.


This competition is aimed at photographers and is for works inspired by specific works of literature. The choice of literary form (poetry, prose, drama etc.) is open. Only one entry per person will be accepted. The entry shall not exceed 9 MB.


The main prizes are:

EUR 800 for First Place;

EUR 500 for Second Place;

EUR 300 for Third Place.
