Two-week internship “Civil Trust Building”

Deadline: 18 May 2012
Open to: 18-35 year old citizens of the 7 Western Balkans countries who have interest in and knowledge of EU policies.
Remuneration: No fees. Accommodation, meals, local travel, insurance and the lowest-cost trip to the host country are covered.

Description

EU citizens should be familiar and properly informed about the actual situation in the candidate and potential candidate countries of the Western Balkans region, about the perspective of future EU enlargement. Civil society organisations on both sides of the fence can play an important role in this process by promoting public debates, carrying out information and awareness-raising campaigns, etc. We are convinced that the countries of the Western Balkans have a potential to join mainstream European processes and contribute on a partnership basis to the shaping of Europeof the future. Therefore, seven interns from the Western Balkans region will be placed for a two-week internship with six civil society organizations in EU member states. This internship will include meetings, distribution of the Enlargement questionnaire, preparation of the National Citizens’ Consultations, and participation at the Vienna evaluation meeting.
Interns will spend two weeks in Austria, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Slovakia or Slovenia from 11-25 June 2012. Selected interns will work on the implementation of the Civil Trust Building project through meetings, visits and other forms of contacts. During that they will disseminate information about the daily realities of their country from a human perspective and learn how public opinion of the host country views the perspectives of EU enlargement. Additionally, as part of preparations for the internship they will familiarize themselves with the political, social, cultural and civil realities of the host country and participate in preparations and the holding of a national citizens’ consultation on EU enlargement organised by the host organisation. Interns will distribute the enlargement questionnaire, provide news items for the project website, share experience and report on their experience as an intern. The last commitment will be the participation at the evaluation meeting in Vienna on 25 June 2012.

    1. Dear Sandra,

It doesn't mean that Mladiinfo needs to be your sending organization, but from what I can read in the post, I don't see annywhere that you need a sending organization. One of the requirements is for applicants to have experience in civil society organisations, but no mentioning about sending organizations.

      Kind regards
      Mladiinfo

    1. Dear suzana,

If it's not specified in the post, then there is no way for us to know the information. You might want to check with the organizers.

      Kind regards
      Mladiinfo

    1. Dear Anida,

I don't know what is the problem with the CSO background, it just simply means that you need to have worked/or are still working in a Civil society organisation, or to have been/be involved in one in some way. And for the other question, yes, you will be reimbursed for the costs of the internship. Keep in mind that only low-cost travel will be reimbursed.

      Kind regards
      Mladiinfo

    1. Dear ilda,

We have no way of knowing what will be the selection process, because we are not the organizers. If you want an answer to that question, you might want to contact them.

      Kind regards

    1. Dear Marseda,

When the post was made the deadline was stated as 18th May, and we cannot possibly check every single post that we make for changes that the organizers decide to make in the meantime, it will be too much work, and we would't have time to make new posts about the new opportunities that come out every day. That is why we make sure to put the Official Website in every single post that we publish, so that our visitors can look at the information for themselves, because the organizers have the right to change the information at any time.
Anyway, the deadline is now passed, so if you've noticed this information (about the deadline) before, it would have been nice for you to have pointed it out on time. Now it's too late, and your comment is pointless.

      Kind regards
      Mladiinfo
