Description
The Zentrum für Zeithistorische Forschung / Centre for Contemporary History Potsdam (ZZF) is accepting applications for a Young Eastern European Fellowship to study German and European History in the 20th century. This six-months fellowship will provide young scholars from East Central Europe and the former Soviet Union with an opportunity to pursue individual research while participating in the academic life of one of Germany’s major historical research centres. The ZZF covers a broad scope of Contemporary European History with four research departments:
- Communism and Society;
- Economic Thought and Practice;
- Contemporary History of Media and Information Societies;
- Regimes of the Social Sphere.
Eligibility
Applicants must have at least postdoctoral status with a significant academic record and coming from East Central Europe and the former Soviet Union.
Fellowship
This is a 6 month fellowship. During this time you will be provided with EUR 2,500 to cover all expenses including traveling, housing, and insurance. Fellows are expected to reside in Berlin or Potsdam for six consecutive months between April and December 2015. The ZZF will provide office space and other relevant facilities.
Application
The application deadline is 16 January, 2015. Decisions will be announced not later than 28 February, 2015. Applications can be in English or in German and must include:
- letter of interest;
- curriculum vitae (including a list of publications);
- project proposal not exceeding 1500 words;
- letter of recommendation.
