About the Conference

The Conference is planned as a two-day meeting of Croatian Studies students, students of Croatology, students of Faculty of Teacher Education and other students interested in the topic of this year Conference. The aim is to connect students, active researchers, not only from Croatia, but from other countries of the world, as well. Croatian Studies Students Association Idiom invites all interested students of Croatian Studies and other closely related disciplines to participate in the International Student Conference Literary and Linguistic Dialogues. The Conference will be held on the 21st and 22nd of October 2016 at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka. As this is an international conference, its official languages are Croatian and English.

Eligibility

Eligible to apply are undergraduates, graduates or PhD students. Participants can take part in this Conference actively (as presenters) or passively (as listeners).

Costs

  • Registration fee includes accommodation for guest speakers not living in Rijeka, printing of the book of abstracts, conference materials, and snacks;
  • Registration fee for guest speakers (not living in Rijeka) is 150 HRK or 20 EUR, for speakers living in Rijeka 100 HRK or 15 EUR, and for passive participants living outside of Rijeka 100 HRK or 15 EUR. Passive participants living in Rijeka do not have to pay registration fee;
    Both active and passive participants will receive detailed instructions on the payment procedure via e-mail;
  • Participants (both presenters and listeners) living outside of Rijeka will be accommodated.

How to apply?

Every student can apply a maximum of two works, provided that both works are written in co-authorship or that the student one of the works wrote alone and the other in joint authorship with a colleague. One work can be written by a maximum of three students. Topics may vary, but must be connected with either language or literature. Presenters will be divided into groups depending on the topics applied. The presentation will consist of 20 minutes of presenter’s elaborating the work and 10 minutes of discussion.

Applicants (potential presenters) are expected to submit theme (work title), summary, and key words in Croatian or English language (in .doc or .docx format) by the 15th of August 2016 exclusively via e-mail address: studkon.ri@gmail.com.

Successful applicants will be notified by the 31st of August 2016.
Passive participants (listeners) have to send the application form by the 31st of August 2016 exclusively to the e-mail address: studkon.ri@gmail.com.
